No Net Impact: Dust Control

Bill Barrett Corporation’s commitment to dust control in the West Tavaputs area includes:

• Implementing road improvements to alleviate dust
• Constructing turn-outs and designated parking locations along the Nine Mile Canyon Backcountry Byway to accommodate, where possible, site improvements identified in the BLM Recreation and Cultural Management Plan
• Treating BLM system roads with water or an approved dust suppressant
• Improving certain road sections with hard surfacing (e.g. asphalt or chip seal)
• Providing year-round maintenance on project roads – BBC road maintenance will include road inspections, reduction/repair of ruts and holes, water and erosion controls
• Using pipelines to transport produced water and condensate as appropriate to reduce road traffic
